In October 1850 Prince Henryk Lubomirski died in Dresden. Eighteen years later, his son, Jerzy Lubomirski, established the Entail of Przeworsk (an indivisible part of the Lubomirski estate, part of whose income was to be used to maintain the Ossolineum), which was approved by Emperor Francis Joseph in February 1868. The establishment of the Entail was a condition for the opening of the Lubomirski Museum, which was opened to the public in 1870.
