A new department, the Ossolineum Publishing House, was created on the basis of the former Schoolbook Publishing House. Two printing houses, the largest bookbindery in Poland, the Warsaw and Krakow divisions of the publishing house and several smaller publishing and bookstore institutions in Poznan, Vilnius and Lublin were placed under its control.
